Senior Financial Analyst Job Summary The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for and engages in a range of financial management activities to support the Commercial Lines operation in generating sustainable long-term growth and profitability for the organization. Designs, develops, builds, and maintains organized and highly complex financial models, calculates key financial and operational targets for supporting strategic outcomes, and serves as a key contributor for deriving business value from organization's investments. Monitors, reports, researches, and analyzes key financial and operational results in comparison to targets and offers insights and opportunities for improving results based on sound financial and business expertise. Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance) 5
years of experience in finance or accounting in similar roles with demonstrated progression of responsibilities. 3
years of experience in designing and building financial models to project future financial and operational performance and identify optimal key performance indicator targets designed to support achievement of desired business outcomes. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, OR equivalent experience. Advanced Excel skills (e.g. writing complex formulas, utilizing functions, building pivot tables). Intermediate to advanced critical thinking skills (e.g. analysis, interpretation, problem-solving) Knowledge of and experience with accounting, financial, statistical, and mathematical concepts commonly used in assessing and reporting P&C Insurer financial performance. Experience working with data (collection, preparation, analysis, visualization). High attention to detail and experience being accurate. Strong communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Able to keep highly sensitive information confidential. Able to work independently to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. Physical Requirements (specific to the role) The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40
hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time). Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:
telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc. Ability to travel as required. Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
