Regional Property Specialist Job Summary Works within significant limits and authority on highly complex claim assignments. Determines coverage, investigates, analyzes, negotiates, and settles complex claims with high exposure while delivering quality customer service. Responsible for initial catastrophe claim response and on-site participation anywhere within the company's operating territory. Possesses highly technical skills and the ability to travel frequently. Westfield Property Claims resolves first party personal and commercial property claims, including structural damage, business and personal property, and business income losses. Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance) 7 or more years of property or industry-related claims handling experience (ex. construction estimator, property training, etc.). Experience negotiating claims and handling conflict. Technical expertise and experience handling complex property claims typically in excess of $250,000. Ability to frequently travel on short notice. Experience using Xactimate or other property estimating software. Experience using a claims management system e.g. Guidewire or diary management system to accurately document file activities. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the company. Ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and other contracts. Thorough understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case law. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel or transferable software packages. Holds and maintains appropriate adjuster licensing and certification(s) in assigned territories and will obtain additional licensing based upon business needs. Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. Industry recognized designation such as CPCU, SCLA, AIC, etc. Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience. Physical Requirements (specific to the role) The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40
hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time). Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:
telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail etc. Ability to travel as required. Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy. Ability to drive for extended periods of time, under a variety of conditions, including night driving. Ability to physically inspect damaged property and/or loss locations, including the following:
ascend/descend a 24' ladder, carry 60 lbs. (ex. ladder weight), traverse a sloped roof surface, walk, kneel, crawl, navigate rough terrain and inspect property in low light circumstances. Ability to travel on short notice to handle catastrophe losses for a minimum of 2 weeks per year. Participates as a first responder on catastrophe teams if necessary. May participate as a manager or co-manager of a catastrophe team. This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role. $80K -- $150K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
